Daytona Beach is best known for the sand you can drive on, but the fishing story is the pairing: open Atlantic surf out front for pompano, whiting, and bluefish, and the Halifax River — the Intracoastal — right behind it for redfish, trout, and black drum along the seawalls and bridges.
