About Venice Pier
The Venice Fishing Pier runs out into the Gulf at Brohard Park, and it is the center of everything on this stretch — anglers on it around the clock, a restaurant at the foot of it, and the shark-tooth hunters working the sand on either side. Venice bills itself as the shark tooth capital of the world for good reason: the fossil beds lie just offshore and every good blow turns fresh teeth up onto the beach. The camera looks down the pier and out over the water from Sharky's upper deck.
