Fishing Flagler Beach
Flagler Beach has kept its low-rise, no-chain character, and its beach is one of the best surf-fishing stretches on the east coast — coquina-firm sand, a defined trough, and a pier right in the middle of town. Pompano and whiting run heavy in spring and fall, and behind the dune the Intracoastal offers redfish, trout, and flounder along the dock lines when the surf is blown out.
Target species
- Pompano
- Whiting
- Redfish
- Flounder
Local tip: Pompano feed on the rising tide as the trough fills — an hour either side of dawn is the classic window.
