Fishing Haulover Inlet
Bakers Haulover Inlet is narrow, shallow at the mouth, and infamous for standing waves when an outgoing tide meets an east swell — it has its own following of people who watch boats attempt it. For anglers it is a genuinely excellent inlet: tarpon in the spring and summer, snook on the rocks, permit and kingfish just outside, and Haulover Park giving land-based access to both jetties.
Target species
- Tarpon
- Snook
- Permit
- Kingfish
Local tip: The outgoing against an east wind is when the inlet fishes best and boats it worst — fish it from the rocks.
