Fishing Satellite Beach
Satellite Beach is a low-key stretch of Atlantic sand between Patrick Space Force Base and Indian Harbour Beach, with easy public accesses and none of the pier crowds to the north. It fishes as a straightforward surf beach — pompano and whiting in the trough, snook along the wash in summer, and the occasional big jack or tarpon blowing through bait schools. The Indian River Lagoon sits a few blocks west for a wind day.
Target species
- Pompano
- Whiting
- Snook
- Redfish
Local tip: Read the bars: a cut or a deeper pocket in the trough will out-fish a hundred yards of flat sand.
