About Lemon Bay
Lemon Bay is the long, shallow, grass-bottomed lagoon running behind Manasota Key from Venice down to Stump Pass. It is protected water — rarely more than a few feet deep — which makes it fishable on days when the Gulf is unworkable, and it holds snook, redfish and trout along the mangrove edges and dock lines year round. Chadwick Cove looks out over the bay itself rather than the beach, so this is the view that tells you whether the inside is worth a run.
