About Indialantic
Indialantic and Melbourne Beach sit on the narrow barrier island where the Indian River Lagoon runs closest to the Atlantic, so the ocean and the estuary are minutes apart. The boardwalk at the end of the Melbourne Causeway is the local surf spot and gathering point, with a beach break that works on most swells and a straightforward paddle-out. This island also carries one of the heaviest sea turtle nesting loads in the hemisphere — from May into October the dune line is staked out with nests.
