About Apalachicola
Apalachicola sits where the largest river system in the Panhandle meets the bay, and the town is still built around that — shrimp boats and oyster skiffs tied along the working riverfront, tin-roofed warehouses behind them. That freshwater push over miles of oyster bar and marsh grass is what built the estuary's reputation, and the bay's oyster fishery is slowly coming back from its collapse under close management.
