About St. George Island
St. George Island is 28 miles of barrier island with a state park covering the whole east end, making it one of the least developed beaches left in Florida — no high-rises, no traffic lights, and long stretches where the only structure is dune. The Blue Parrot sits right on the sand in the middle of the built section, looking straight out at the Gulf. Sikes Cut at the west end concentrates everything moving between Apalachicola Bay and the open water, and when the Gulf blows out, the sound side stays fishable.
