About Destin Harbor
Destin calls itself the World's Luckiest Fishing Village and the harbor is where the claim gets settled every afternoon — the largest charter fleet in the state runs in and out of this basin, and the dock scales at HarborWalk Village are the local scoreboard. The continental shelf comes closer to shore here than anywhere else on the Florida Gulf coast, so snapper, grouper and blue water are a genuinely short run out through East Pass. The harbor itself is protected water, which means it can look glassy here while the pass outside is standing up.
