About Perdido Key Surf
Most beach cams sit twenty floors up; this one stands at the top of La Riva's dune walkover, so it sees Perdido Key about the way you will when you walk out. The boardwalk runs over sea oats and dune grass to a wide strip of white quartz sand, with the surf line straight ahead and the flag pole on the right. La Riva sits on the built-up stretch of the key between the Palms of Perdido and Mirabella, with national seashore and state park sand a short drive either way. Because the beach faces almost due south, a south or southeast wind stacks surf here quickly, and the breakers in this frame are the plainest read on how big it is running.
What this camera is good for
- Surf size and shore break at eye level
- Flag color on the pole at the right of the frame
- How far up the sand the swash is reaching
- Dune and walkover conditions after a blow

Common questions
- Is the Perdido Key Surf camera live?
- Yes, it is a live stream running 24 hours a day. If it looks dark, it is night at the camera.
- Does it cost anything to watch?
- No. Salty Forecast is completely free — no ads, no account, no paid tier, and nothing on this page is behind a sign-up.
- What are the tides at Perdido Key today?
- Today's high and low tide times for Perdido Key are on the tide chart page, drawn from the NOAA station at Pensacola. Tide state changes what the beach looks like on camera — at low water the beach is at its widest.
- Why does the camera look hazy or dark?
- Live cameras sit outdoors: rain on the lens, salt spray, fog and low light all affect the picture. Night views are lit only by whatever is nearby. If the feed is down entirely, that is the operator's camera rather than this page — the conditions above still update.
