About Perdido Key
Perdido Key is the last barrier island in Florida before the Alabama line — a thin strip of near-pure quartz sand with the Gulf on one side and Old River and Big Lagoon on the other. Big stretches of it belong to Gulf Islands National Seashore and Perdido Key State Park, so the built-up section is short and the sand either side of it stays empty. The beach faces almost due south here, which means a summer south wind puts surf on it while the Panhandle beaches to the east stay flatter.
What this camera is good for
- Surf and water color on a south-facing beach
- Whether the Gulf is calm enough to run Perdido Pass
- How much of the beach the tide has left
- Storms tracking in from the west
This camera opens on its host site rather than embedding here — the feed blocks framing, so linking out is the only way to reach the real stream.

Common questions
- Is the Perdido Key camera live?
- Yes — it streams on the operator's own site, and the link on this page always opens whichever stream is currently running.
- Does it cost anything to watch?
- No. Salty Forecast is completely free — no ads, no account, no paid tier, and nothing on this page is behind a sign-up.
- What are the tides at Perdido Key today?
- Today's high and low tide times for Perdido Key are on the tide chart page, drawn from the NOAA station at Pensacola. Tide state changes what the beach looks like on camera — at low water the beach is at its widest.
- Why does the camera look hazy or dark?
- Live cameras sit outdoors: rain on the lens, salt spray, fog and low light all affect the picture. Night views are lit only by whatever is nearby. If the feed is down entirely, that is the operator's camera rather than this page — the conditions above still update.
