About Fort Morgan Road
West of Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan Road runs out along a long, skinny peninsula to the old fort at the mouth of Mobile Bay, and the build-up thins out fast once you leave town. Large stretches of the peninsula belong to Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, so the beach out here is backed by real dunes rather than a wall of condos, and it is far quieter than the beaches in town. The camera looks south over The Beach Club's pools and dune walkover to the Gulf. It is a useful counterpoint to the busier beaches east of here: the same surf with fewer people on it.
What this camera is good for
- Surf and water color on a quiet stretch of Gulf
- Wind on the water before you drive out the peninsula
- Weather coming in from the west
- Sunrise and sunset light over the dunes

Common questions
- Is the Fort Morgan Road camera live?
- Yes, it is a live stream running 24 hours a day. If it looks dark, it is night at the camera.
- Does it cost anything to watch?
- No. Salty Forecast is completely free — no ads, no account, no paid tier, and nothing on this page is behind a sign-up.
- What are the tides at Gulf Shores today?
- Today's high and low tide times for Gulf Shores are on the tide chart page, drawn from the NOAA station at Gulf State Park Pier. Tide state changes what the beach looks like on camera — at low water the beach is at its widest.
- Why does the camera look hazy or dark?
- Live cameras sit outdoors: rain on the lens, salt spray, fog and low light all affect the picture. Night views are lit only by whatever is nearby. If the feed is down entirely, that is the operator's camera rather than this page — the conditions above still update.
