About Gulf Shores Public Beach
The public beach where Highway 59 runs out of road is the middle of Gulf Shores, the stretch with the Hangout, the Pink Pony and the most public access in town. This camera looks west down it from the Phoenix All Suites tower next door, with the Gulf on the left and the beachfront on the right. The sand here is wide and the slope gentle, so a south wind builds a long, rolling shore break, and it is the stretch where the lifeguards' flags matter most because it is where most people get in. The NCAA beach volleyball championship is played on this same sand each spring.
What this camera is good for
- Surf and shore break before the kids get in
- How full the public beach and parking are
- Flag conditions and rough water on a south wind
- Storms building over the Gulf on a summer afternoon
This player waits for a tap to start, and it plays muted.

Common questions
- Is the Gulf Shores Public Beach camera live?
- Yes, it is a live stream running 24 hours a day. If it looks dark, it is night at the camera.
- Does it cost anything to watch?
- No. Salty Forecast is completely free — no ads, no account, no paid tier, and nothing on this page is behind a sign-up.
- What are the tides at Gulf Shores today?
- Today's high and low tide times for Gulf Shores are on the tide chart page, drawn from the NOAA station at Gulf State Park Pier. Tide state changes what the beach looks like on camera — at low water the beach is at its widest.
- Why does the camera look hazy or dark?
- Live cameras sit outdoors: rain on the lens, salt spray, fog and low light all affect the picture. Night views are lit only by whatever is nearby. If the feed is down entirely, that is the operator's camera rather than this page — the conditions above still update.
