About Orange Beach

Orange Beach runs east from Gulf State Park to the Florida line, and most of its Gulf front is a row of high-rise condos along Perdido Beach Boulevard with the sand straight out in front. This camera sits high up in that row and looks west down the beach, so instead of one patch of sand you get miles of surf line at once, with the Gulf Shores towers on the horizon. The Alabama coast faces almost due south, which means any south or southeast wind lays surf straight onto it and pushes water up the beach. From this height a sandbar break, a rip channel or a line of storms coming up from the Gulf is easy to read.

Common questions

Is the Orange Beach camera live?
Yes, it is a live stream running 24 hours a day. If it looks dark, it is night at the camera.
Does it cost anything to watch?
No. Salty Forecast is completely free — no ads, no account, no paid tier, and nothing on this page is behind a sign-up.
What are the tides at Orange Beach today?
Today's high and low tide times for Orange Beach are on the tide chart page, drawn from the NOAA station at Alabama Point. Tide state changes what the beach looks like on camera — at low water the beach is at its widest.
Why does the camera look hazy or dark?
Live cameras sit outdoors: rain on the lens, salt spray, fog and low light all affect the picture. Night views are lit only by whatever is nearby. If the feed is down entirely, that is the operator's camera rather than this page — the conditions above still update.
