About Fort Pierce Inlet
Fort Pierce Inlet is a deep, hard-running cut with jetties on both sides and a state park on the north — one of the most reliable land-based snook, tarpon and redfish spots on the Treasure Coast, and a well-known surf break when a swell wraps in. The current sweeps bait through in a hurry, which is what concentrates the fish and also what makes the inlet unforgiving when an outgoing tide meets an east wind. It is the closest inlet to some genuinely good nearshore reef.
