About Hobe Sound
Hobe Sound is the quiet stretch of Jupiter Island between Stuart and Jupiter, and most of the beach here belongs to a national wildlife refuge — undeveloped Atlantic sand on one side, narrow mangrove-lined Intracoastal on the other, and essentially no commercial frontage in between. The beach is steep-faced with a close-in trough, which puts fish within easy casting range and also makes the shorebreak heavier than it looks. It is one of the most heavily used sea turtle nesting beaches in the hemisphere.
