About Ponce Inlet
Ponce de Leon Inlet is the drain for Mosquito Lagoon and the Halifax River, and everything moving between that huge estuary and the Atlantic has to pass between its jetties — which is why it holds bull redfish, flounder, snook and tarpon in season, and why it is genuinely dangerous when wind opposes tide. The lighthouse at the inlet is the tallest in Florida. This is a Volusia County lifeguard-tower camera, so it is a wide, honest view of the beach rather than a resort's marketing angle.
