The water at Navarre Beach
Navarre sits on the least-developed stretch of Santa Rosa Island, with the longest fishing pier in Florida reaching out over open Gulf and miles of quiet sound water behind it. The sound holds trout, redfish, and flounder over grass and sand, while the pier and the surf give up pompano, whiting, and Spanish mackerel. The Gulf Islands National Seashore on either side keeps the beach empty even in season.
