About Jacksonville Beach
Jacksonville Beach is straight, open Atlantic sand with a pier in the middle of it and very little else to bend the swell, which makes it a pure surf and pier fishery — pompano and whiting in the trough through spring and fall, Spanish mackerel and bluefish blitzing bait off the end. This camera has been running free since 2009, which makes it one of the longest-lived beach cams in the state. The nearshore reefs a couple of miles out hold kingfish and cobia in the warm months.
